A client demo checklist for small teams
A useful client demo answers one concrete question: can this product help the client complete their task? Prepare one workflow, share the relevant tab and leave space for the client to ask questions. ScreenZero provides the live screen share and guest link.
Before the call: decide what the client should learn
Write down the client’s task, the obstacle they face and the result you want to demonstrate. Build the demo around that sequence rather than touring every menu.
Prepare a demonstration account with sample data. Avoid showing real customer records, API keys, internal chat or unrelated work. Keep a backup screenshot or document ready if the product environment fails.
Check the guest experience
Create a room and test the viewer link on a separate device. Check text size, microphone and the specific tab or window you intend to share. If you use two devices in one room, mute one to avoid feedback.
For a planned demo, schedule the meeting and use the calendar invitation. For an immediate conversation, send the room link through the channel you are already using. Guests do not need a ScreenZero account.
During the demo: show one workflow
Begin by confirming what the client wants to accomplish. Show the starting point, complete the task and pause on the result. Ask whether this matches their actual process before moving on.
Keep the cursor deliberate and enlarge small text. If another question requires a different application, stop sharing before opening material that was not prepared for the call.
Finish with a decision and a next step
Agree who will do what next and when. A useful follow-up can be a trial task, a second review with a colleague or a decision that the product is not a fit.
If you record, explain the purpose and agree how the file will be handled. ScreenZero recordings are downloaded locally by the presenter; do not promise a hosted replay link or automatic transcript.
