Screen sharing or remote control: choose the right workflow
Screen sharing shows another person what is on a screen. Remote control also lets someone operate the other device. ScreenZero is a browser screen-sharing product; it does not provide remote desktop control or unattended device access.
When a presenter-led walkthrough fits
Use a live screen share to demonstrate a product, explain a report, review a design or show someone how to complete a task. The presenter controls the shared content while guests ask questions.
This is a good fit when a client needs an explanation and you can demonstrate the process using your own application or sample account.
When you need remote support software
If the task requires operating a customer’s computer, installing software, changing device settings or maintaining unattended access, evaluate a product that explicitly supports those actions. ScreenZero does not provide them.
Check who can initiate sharing and who needs an account before adopting any support workflow. A viewer invitation should not be treated as a promise that a guest can broadcast their own screen.
Questions to ask before choosing a tool
Does the customer need to watch your demonstration, show their own problem, or let you operate their device? These are separate requirements. Write down which one the support team needs.
Also check installation permissions, browser and operating-system support, recording handling, participant limits and the supplier’s security documentation.
A simple ScreenZero support workflow
Prepare the process in your own browser using demonstration data. Invite the customer to your room, share the relevant tab and explain each step while they follow on their own device.
If resolving the issue requires direct access to the customer’s device, move to an approved remote-support tool rather than promising that screen sharing can take control.
